MITCHELL: 5 times over limit at Wallan


A 40-year-old woman has had her car impounded after she was allegedly caught more than five times over the legal limit in Wallan overnight.

Officers from Wallan Police Station were patrolling as part of Operation Target when they detected a Toyota Landcruiser driving erratically with their headlights off on Queen Street about 11.55pm.

Officers intercepted the vehicle on Queen Street, Wallan and spoke to the driver who has a zero-alcohol condition.

She underwent a preliminary breath test and then accompanied officers to Wallan for an evidentiary test where she returned an alleged reading of 0.274.

The Toyota was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1675.00.

She was served with an immediate 12-month licence ban and released pending summons.
