Wednesday, November 14, 2018
The sum of $18,125 will be provided for Kinglake Ranges Neighbourhood House, it was announced this afternoon (Wed.).
Indi MHR Cathy McGowan has congratulated Murrindindi Shire and the Kinglake community for securing an $18,125 Stronger Communities Program grant.
The money will go towards upgrading the Kinglake Ranges Neighbourhood House by extending the kitchen, creating more storage and improving access to the building.
Ms McGowan said securing the grant came from an effective partnership between the community, local council and the Indi electorate office.
“The upgrade project for Kinglake Ranges Neighbourhood House will enable additional programs to be run at the house and increase participation,” Ms McGowan said.
“Consultations through the Aged Friendly project supported the renovation project to enable additional programs that would support older people in the community.
“These include community meals, cooking classes and other planned activities. I look forward to seeing the finished project and its benefits for Kinglake.”
A total of $150,000 in funding has been allocated to Indi under round three of the program.
