Geelan accuses Local Paper editor

Journalism student Ashley Geelan, of Kinglake, has threatened Local Paper Ash Long, in the latest of dozens of abusive emails and Internet posts.

“I will front you face to face old skool,” says Geelan, who operates KinglakeRangesNews.com as part of his Latrobe University media studies course.

Geelan repeatedly abuses Long, calling him a “fat old c–t”. Geelan accuses Long of repeatedly abusing an intellectually disabled child.

“I have you-on record – attacking an intellectually disabled child on two occasions (recorded). Some class .

“No matter our disagreements Mr Long, attacking an intellectually disabled person (I have at least three on record now) is simply inacceptable (sic) and beyond the pale. No if or buts. (Unless it’s you -or I – who clearly consider such fair game, but attacking an intellectually disabled person – which I have on record) crosses the line old fat c–t).Get the point? Or do you consider throwing shit at the intellectually disabled fair game? You have before, and it’s provable. Standards + Ash Long = Zero.

“Attacking (as you have, thrice) an intellectually disabled person is UNACCAPETABLE (sic), but not beyond your ‘standards’, if one would call them standards.

“In 48 hrs I’m publishing all our past correspondence (emails inc) to prove what are c**t you are.

“Yes, Mr Long, It’s true you have called – I – on several occasions – a ‘useless piece of shit’ among other comments. Happens again, I will defer matter to a court for further. “You old f** c**t.” See how it works.

“You may wish to check yourself before you wreck yourself.

“Give it to me all you like, to attack an (or any) intellectually disabled person is beyond the pale and a line has now being crossed, even beyond your own fatso typical behaviour.

“Yes, I kept records, a fellow ham (3XEM) has them, and you Mr Long have crossed the (and many) lines now, from critic to belittling an intellectually disabled person.

“Go me, Ash Geelan, all ya like, but an intellectually disabled person, no … Long 101.

“Continue to do so and I I will front you face to face old skool … )

“No response sought, we already know how much you love to attack the disabled, proof is in pudding …

DISGUSTING.
73s and 88s.

ENDS.
Kind Regards,
Ashley Geelan,
Editor, Kinglake Ranges News
12 Robertson Road,
KINGLAKE, VICTORIA 3763”

According to Australian Media and Communications Authority records, there is “no such licence” at VK3XEM. A person calling themselves “Simon Templar” (the same name as the fictional character known as The Saint, featured in a series of books by Leslie Charteris) runs a Twitter account associated with ‘VK3XEM’, and a website.

Ashley Geelan, a 40-year-old student, is fixated on The Local Paper and its proprietor Ash Long, who declined Geelan’s application for paid employment. Despite giving a written assurance in October last year that he would no longer contact Long, Geelan has continued a regular barrage of abusive and insulting emails. Telstra has a block in place, because of Geelan’s previous nuisance phone calls to Long. The ongoing abuse and threatening behaviour have been reported to Victoria Police, Australian Federal Police and the Australian Media Communications Authority.
