FRANKSTON: City chases events

Applications are now open for Frankston City Council’s 2025-26 Destination Event Attraction Program, providing an opportunity for event organisers to secure funding for their upcoming events.
The program offers financial and in-kind support to organisations to deliver high-quality festivals and events that provide remarkable visitor experiences, local engagement and build upon the City’s positioning as a creative destination.
The current season has supported four events, including End of the Line Frankston, The Carlsberg Beach Club, the Australian Sand Sculpting Championships, and the sophomore year of the Frankston Swim Classic – as part of Waterfront Festival. These events are expected to inject $3.1 million into the local economy.
Wilton Ward Councillor David Asker said: “The Destination Event Attraction Program is more than just supporting great events—it’s about driving economic growth, creating jobs, and ensuring that the benefits of tourism are felt throughout our local economy.”
“Frankston’s diverse cultural and natural assets, combined with strategic event support, allow us to continue driving economic prosperity through tourism and local partnerships.”
