Bill Dredge wins at Yea Golf

Peter Keast (25), Yea golf Club’s volunteer greenskeeper, produced an outstanding effort to win Saturday’s Stableford Competition with 40 points.
Although there was some rain during the afternoon, more than 20 golfers participated in excellent conditions.
Second was Neil Peterson (13) with 38 points. Third on CB was Alan Pell (11) from Greg Clements (14) with 35 points from fifth John Tanner (19) with 34.
Rick Wills was NTP on the second and John Phillips won the Club Award. Kevin Coghlan was the winner of Chooklotto.
Wednesday Golf
Wednesday (Jan. 2) saw the return of the midweek Gender Competition at Yea. Some 21 golfers took to the course which saw the men have a good result coming from 20 down to now lead by 18 points.
Winner on the day was Bill Dredge (21) with nett 66. Bill has spent many hours grooming the fairways over the last few weeks, so he got just reward for his work.
Second was Alan Pell (12) with nett 71 from third Russell Wealands (19) with nett 72. Fourth and winner of the Ladies was Marianne Peterson (45) with nett 73. Second for the Ladies was Miranda Gill(15) on CB with 73 also.
Peter Keast won the NTP on the second and Bruce Kindred won the Club Award. Russell Wealands also won the putting with 26 puts.
The Men won the team average with 75.5 to the Ladies 77.5, so the Men scored 40 points to the Ladies 2. Current totals are Men 114, Ladies 96.
