GREATER DANDENONG: Stolen car at Springvale
Springvale Police have charged four males found in possession of an allegedly stolen vehicle in Springvale on Friday night (Jan. 17).
Police responded to reports of a vehicle containing four males wearing balaclavas and gloves, in a Princes Hwy car park about 8pm.
Officers arrived on scene and used their vehicles to box in an allegedly stolen silver Nissan X Trail.
The Nissan allegedly reversed at speed, colliding with a parked car, before driving forward and ramming a police vehicle.
Three males were removed from the allegedly stolen vehicle and arrested, whilst a fourth male allegedly took off from the scene on foot.
Swift responding officers allegedly ran him down and arrested him in a nearby backyard.
There were no injuries.
Investigators allege that the Nissan was stolen from a Clyde North address earlier in the week.
A 14-year-old boy from the Cranbourne area, a 16-year-old boy from the Greater Dandenong area and a 13-year-old boy from the Greater Dandenong area were charged with theft of a motor vehicle.
They were bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
A 21-year-old man from Clyde North was charged with theft of a motor vehicle.
He was bailed to appear before Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on April 30.
