Bushfire fundraiser at Fawcett Hall
Monday, January 13, 2020
A Victorian Bushfire Appeal Event evening is being held at Fawcett Hall on Thursday,. February 6 from 7pm.
The event is through the efforts of Cinamon Cunningham, a local business owner and Fawcett Hall Committee. She has been deeply affected by the fires over the last few months, herself an active volunteer firefighter
Cinamon developed an idea for locals to have a nice night out to distract from the happenings and raise funds.
Cinamon’s callout to Australian musician Jenny Biddle who is appearing in Murrindindi Shire in February, was quickly taken up with an offer to support by playing on the night.
Jenny will be supported by local Steve Paix and together they will put on a relaxing evening at the hall featuring Jenny’s indie folk with a twist of blues, and Steve’s jazz melodies.
There will be a free supper supplied by local caterer Lyn Hickey from Harvesting the Feast and the Spring Creek Road Ladies. Local wines will be available at bar prices.
“As locals we all remember the nations assistance in 2009 to our local communities, now it’s time to give back and we can do this with a great evening out at our boutique hall,” said Sam Hicks, President of Fawcett Hall.
“The committee has backed Cinnamon’s idea without hesitation and the support from Jenny, a country girl herself, local musician Steve, local caterer Lyn, two of our local wineries ( Sedona Estate Wines and Little River Wines ) has been brilliant with many local ladies offering to assist in the catering.”
Tickets are $20 per person, with kids’ tickets available for a gold coin donation. All funds will be directed to the Victoria Bushfire Relief Fund via Bendigo Bank’s independent arm; the Community Enterprise Foundation.
