Police nab 4 on Lake Nagambie

Water Police officers nabbed four jet ski riders at weekend as part of an ongoing operation on Lake Nagambie targeting hoon riders.

Police on jet skis patrolled the river for four hours from 1.30pm and caught a female rider and three male riders speeding.

A 28-year-old Wollert woman, a 16-year-old Broadmeadows boy and two men aged in their 30s are all expected to be charged on summons with dangerous operation and exceeding 5 knot speed limits.

An embargo notice was also issued to three of the riders and their vessels prohibiting their use for 48 hours on any Victorian waterway.

Police also issued 10 infringement notices to other vessel operators in relation to speed and safety offences.

Water police will continue targeted operations on Lake Nagambie, the Goulburn River and other waterways this summer.
