Greg Clements wins Yea golf medal

Wednesday saw another fantastic turnout of 34 golfers for the 7th round of the Gender Challenge. P
laying stroke and putting, competition was strong with Ladies Captain Vicky Butler (34) winning the day on CB from Allan Thatcher (21) with a nett 68. Third was Graeme Bryant (23) nett 69 from David Ngo (22) 70 and Peter Johnston (15) with 71 on CB from Dors Lehman (35). Third for the Ladies was Vicki Clements (23) with a nett 72. Fifth and a ball winner for the Men was Paul Hildebrand (27) with a nett 72 on CB from Chris Smith (27).
NTP for the men on the 2nd was Neil Peterson . Putting was won by Karen Sangster for the Ladies with 27 putts, the Men’s putting was won by Bill Dredge on CB from Ivor Brayley with 26 putts.
The result this week saw the men achieve 60 of the available 85 points on offer. This narrows the Ladies lead from 150 to 115 with two rounds to go. Ladies 355 Men 240.
Playing off a 17 handicap Greg Clements won the first Medal of the Year (for February) with a nett 69.
Second was Chris Smith (27) on CB from Carl Maffei (23) with a nett 70. Fourth was Neil Peterson (13) with 71 from fifth Malcolm Bett (23) nett 72.
Even with 24 golfers there was no NTP on the 11th.
The putting was won by Carl Maffei on CB from Greg Clements with 23 putts. The Club Award won achieved by Alan Pell in a three way CB which was applauded by the members only to be hushed when they realised he received the $10.
There were five Ladies playing in the morning. Winner was Meryl Connell with 37 points. Runner Up was Vicki Clements 35 points. NTP on the 14th was Jan Wealands.
