‘Ban the bag’ discussion due in State Parliament

Boomerang bags have become incredibly popular in places including Alexandra, Yea and Kinglake.
The banning of plastic bags, packaging and microbeading is due to be discussed in State Parliament on Wednesday (Oct. 18).
Plastic-free Victoria Alliance, a newly formed and rapidly growing collective of over 50 environmental, community and industry groups across Victoria, is calling on the State Parliament to put party politics aside and take immediate action to turn the tide on plastic pollution.
“There are hundreds of community groups across Victoria who are fed up with inaction by Governments on issues directly impacting where they live,” said PVA spokesman Robert Skehan.
