Darebin Crs Gaetano Grech and Julie Williams are keen for the north suburban council to pressure the Federal Government on its policy about childcare.

The pair successfully moved at the latest municipal meeting “that Council writes to the Prime Minister, Leader of Opposition and Leader of the Greens calling for an initial three months extension of the Federal Government’s free childcare program which will now end on July 12.

Council also calls for an overhaul of the childcare system after September with a view of adopting a modern free childcare scheme into the future”.
