Nillumbik Shire Council contractors will be undertaking pruning works and possible tree removal around overhead powerlines.

The works will be undertaken in the streets of Eltham, Eltham North, Research, Greensborough and parts of Diamond Creek and Wattle Glen between August and February.

The works are part of regular maintenance to ensure compliance with the Electric Line Clearance Regulations 2015.

Nillumbik Council is responsible for maintaining a minimum clearance space around the powerlines to avoid the chance of trees contacting powerlines, which could lead to power outages, and in some instances, fires.
