KNOX: Rowville man charged over drugs
Detectives from the Icarus Taskforce charged a man after border-controlled drugs were detected concealed inside a convection oven sent through the domestic freight system.
Collaboration between the Icarus Taskforce and Australian Border Force, including a thorough forensic search, revealed a concealment hidden within the oven.
The oven was deconstructed and found to contain two blocks of compressed powder.
A 31-year-old Rowville man was arrested last Thursday afternoon (May 8) at his home address.
He was interviewed by investigators and subsequently charged with trafficking large commercial quantities of methylamphetamine and cocaine, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
The man was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (May 15).
