Whittlesea CIU detectives ask for public assistance
Thursday, October 26, 2017
Whittlesea Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following thefts and subsequent deceptions earlier this month.
It was reported a man has entered a car park in a vehicle, believed to be stolen, at a university on Plenty Rd in Bundoora on October 6.
The man has then allegedly stolen two purses from the campus before fleeing in an unknown direction.
Credit cards from the purses have then been used at a lottery kiosk and several supermarkets in a shopping centre on Janefield Drive in Bundoora a short time after.
Later that day, the offender has then attended a shopping centre on Murray Rd in Preston and further used the credit cards at a number of businesses in the complex.
On October 24, the offender was reported to have exited a service station, believed to be in the same stolen vehicle, after failure to make an attempt to pay for fuel.
Police have released images of a man who may be able to assist with enquiries.
