Margaret Hale is the Murrindindi Shire Senior Citizen of the Year. The presentation will take place at the Kinglake Australia Day ceremony.

“Marg is a life-long resident of Kinglake, who has devoted a significant amount of her time to helping, encouraging and supporting people around her,” said a Murrindindi Shire Council statement.

“Marg is a humble and hardworking volunteer who has been involved in groups such as the Kinglake Neighbourhood House, Kinglake Historical Society, Kinglake Neighbourhood Watch, Kinglake Ranges Op Shop, Cubs and Scouts, as well as a number of sporting clubs.

“Following the 2009 bushfires, Marg was instrumental in the Kinglake Historical Society recovery activities, including the Kinglake Heritage Trail, Honour Boards and the establishment of the Kinglake Heritage Centre,” the statement said.
