Thursday, June 30, 2022
Two males were arrested on Tuesday morning (June 28) after allegedly scaling a wall and climbing onto a factory roof while trying to flee from Police in Mount Waverley.
The drama started when a stolen gold-coloured Jeep Cherokee, which Police were searching for in relation to a recent spate of crimes in Monash, Boroondara and Stonnington, was spotted on Gloucester Road in Ashburton about 9am.
The Jeep was then allegedly seen at an attempted aggravated burglary about 9.30am in Norm Ct, Mount Waverley.
The Police Air Wing was called in and the Jeep was spotted at an address in Avondon Boulevard, Glen Waverley with two males allegedly trying to break into a house.
The pair headed to another address in Autumn Ct, Glen Waverley where Police activated a plan and stop sticks were successfully deployed on Avendon Boulevard.
The car was dumped near shops on Blackburn Rd and the offenders got out of the SUV and took off on foot.
The duo ran across the Monash Fwy in a southerly direction before heading towards Ricketts Rd where they jumped fences and scaled a wall.
An eagle-eyed police officer in a patrol vehicle spotted the pair climbing onto a factory roof and a cordon was set-up.
The two males, a 20-year-old from Ashburton and a 17-year-old boy from Shepparton, were arrested and were being interviewed by detectives.
