CARDINIA: Charge laid over Pakenham South hit-run

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a 51-year-old man following a hit-run collision that claimed the life of a scooter rider in Pakenham South last year.
Police located a scooter rider unresponsive at the intersection of Healesville-Koo Wee Rup and Ballarto Rds in Pakenham South just before 7pm on February 9.
The 60-year-old Pakenham man was taken to hospital in a critical condition but sadly later died.
It is believed that the scooter was travelling south on Koo Wee Rup Rd when it was struck by vehicle that failed to stop at the scene.
A Lang Lang man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death, fail to stop a motor vehicle and render assistance after a collision involving death.
He was bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (July 12), as this issue of The Local Paper went to press.
