A man has been charged after a car was allegedly stolen in Malvern East then tracked via GPS.

A 35-year-old St Kilda man was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and theft.

It is alleged the keys for a vehicle were stolen from a business on Chadstone Rd in Malvern East about 1am on Thursday, September 15.

The car was tracked via GPS to a hotel on John St in Malvern.

Police followed the vehicle to Grange Rd in Glen Huntly where a man was arrested.

He will appear at Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court on December, 20.
