Cr Kerri McCafferty has informed Mornington Peninsula Council that she is stepping down from her role as a Councillor.
The Victorian Electoral Commission has been advised the Mornington Peninsula Shire has an extraordinary vacancy and will now arrange a count back to determine Cr McCafferty’s replacement in Seawinds Ward. This is expected to take place by early 2023.
In the meantime, Seawinds Ward residents wishing to raise ward-related issues, should contact either:

Council CEO, John Baker, said: “Kerri informed me that she stepping down for personal reasons and I respect her decision.
“I’d like to thank Kerri for her commitment and effort as a Councillor over the past two years and wish her all the very best.”
Mayor, Cr Steve Holland, said: “On behalf of all our Councillors, I want to thank Cr McCafferty for her service to the community since being appointed a Mornington Peninsula Shire Councillor in 2020. I wish her well with her future endeavours.”
