Molesworth fireworks create ire

Fireworks conducted tonight (Sat.) at Molesworth have created ire amongst local residents. The fireworks organisers, apparently associated with the Seventh-Day Adventist conference, had successfully applied for a permit to conduct the display using devices containing gunpowder and other combustible chemicals which causes explosions when ignited. Local residents were sensitive to the fireworks, given that yesterday (Fri.)

Electricity off at Glenburn

UPDATE: There is a tree down across Melba Hwy, south of Glenburn, near the West Bridge Rd intersection. There are 69 properties in Glenburn without electricity, as at 7.25pm Friday (Jan. 4). Estimated restore time, according to Ausnet, is 9:30pm
