$1690 packages available to bushfire families

Bushfire assistance of up to $1960 per family has been extended to communities in 14 Victorian council areas to help relieve personal hardship and distress. People in the Ararat, Alpine, Ballarat, Glenelg, Golden Plains, Indigo, Mansfield, Northern Grampians, Pyrenees, South Gippsland, Southern Grampians, Wangaratta, Wellington and Wodonga council areas can now access the support package.

Unplanned electricity outages started the day on New Year’s Eve for 1701 customers in Murrindindi Shire, says Ausnet. Areas affected include Alexandra, Cathkin, Ghin Ghin, Gobur, Kanumbra, Kilingworth, Koriella, Merton, Molesworth, Whanregarwen, Yarck and Yea. Fire at Creighton’s Creek
