Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an attempted robbery and assault in Frankston on January 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Investigators have been told a man was sitting out the front of his workplace outside a shopping centre on Cranbourne Rd around 5am when a Mercedes pulled up beside him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two males got out of the back seat and approached him, one armed with a hammer, and demanded his money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both of the males then started to punch and kick the victim before dropping the hammer and searching his pockets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The victim managed to ring a bell on a door outside to raise the alarm and the two males went back to the vehicle and drove away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 40-year-old was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is believed five people were in the offending vehicle which is described as a black Mercedes AMG station wagon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The offenders are described a s being aged between 17-20-years-old, wearing all black.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One was wearing a face mask, the other was wearing a beanie and a Kathmandu puffer jacket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
