St Kilda Police and Melton Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after two jet skis were stolen from Port Melbourne.
The two Sea-Doo jet skis, belonging to Life Saving Victoria, were stolen from a yard located on The Boulevard about 4.57am on Sunday, January 4.
It is understood that multiple offenders attended the yard in both a grey Nissan Navara and a second unknown vehicle.
Detectives believe the two vehicles were used to tow the jet skis, which were already attached to two Dunbier trailers.
The jet skis were tracked to a vacant property on Troups Rd South in Mount Cottrell, where its tracking device is believed to have been disabled.
Officers attended the address, but the jet ski was not located.
Investigators have released CCTV and images of the Nissan Navara, a man and the jet skis in the hope that someone might come forward with information.
Police are keen to speak with anyone who may recognise the Nissan or the man, or anyone with information in regarding the location of the jet skis.
Detective Acting Sergeant Sean Armstong, from Melton Crime Investigation Unit, said:
\u201cThese jet skis are absolutely essential to the important work Life Saving Victoria do, especially in the summer months.
\u201cTo steal equipment that is literally used in life-or-death situations is just incomprehensible.
