{"id":17848,"date":"2026-03-07T01:19:57","date_gmt":"2026-03-06T14:19:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dindi.com.au\/wp\/?p=17848"},"modified":"2026-03-07T01:19:57","modified_gmt":"2026-03-06T14:19:57","slug":"knox-alp-selects-bayswater-candidate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dindi.com.au\/wp\/2026\/03\/07\/knox-alp-selects-bayswater-candidate\/","title":{"rendered":"KNOX: ALP selects Bayswater candidate"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Australian Labor Party has named Julie Buxton as candidate for the Bayswater seat at the November state election.<br>Ms Buxton plans to succeed sitting MLA Jackson Taylor who announced last year that he will not seek re-election.<br>\u201cJulie was my first office manager when I was first elected in 2018, and, from day one, I saw how deeply she cared about helping people and making sure our community got the love and attention it deserves,\u201d Mr Taylor said.<br>\u201cShe\u2019s lived in Melbourne\u2019s eastern suburbs her whole life and is now raising her family here. \u201cJulie is a proud mum of two boys, a small business owner, and someone who understands the pressures families and local businesses face every day.<br>\u201cThrough her work helping communities recover after disasters, Julie knows how government works and how to get things done.<br>\u201cBut just as importantly, she believes good representation starts with listening and working alongside the community.<br>\u201cShe\u2019s also been a strong volunteer in local community groups and sporting clubs &#8211; the places that keep our neighbourhoods connected.<br>\u201cOver the past eight years, we\u2019ve secured record investment for our community &#8211; new schools, major road upgrades, community infrastructure and better local services.
