{"id":5819,"date":"2025-04-05T04:48:37","date_gmt":"2025-04-04T17:48:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dindi.com.au\/wp\/?p=5819"},"modified":"2025-04-05T04:48:37","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T17:48:37","slug":"monash-man-charged-after-mulgrave-police-shooting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dindi.com.au\/wp\/2025\/04\/05\/monash-man-charged-after-mulgrave-police-shooting\/","title":{"rendered":"MONASH: Man charged after Mulgrave police shooting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad have charged a man following a police shooting in Mulgrave on Friday morning (Apr. 4).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 27-year-old man has been charged with 21 offences, including reckless conduct endangering life, prohibited person possess firearm, aggravated carjacking, robbery and theft of motor vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Noble Park man was remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates\u2019 Court on June 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The charges follow an alleged evade and the subsequent intercept of a vehicle on Police Rd just before 5.30am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A 29-year-old woman, who was in the car and was allegedly armed with a firearm, was shot by police after a confrontation occurred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, where she remains under police guard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The man was arrested at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An investigation into the matter is underway with oversight by Professional Standards Command, as is standard practice when a police firearm is discharged.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad have charged a man following a police shooting in Mulgrave on Friday morning (Apr. 4).
