{"id":7243,"date":"2025-05-01T05:49:16","date_gmt":"2025-04-30T19:49:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dindi.com.au\/wp\/?p=7243"},"modified":"2025-05-01T05:49:17","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T19:49:17","slug":"hiobsons-bay-assault-at-williamstown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dindi.com.au\/wp\/2025\/05\/01\/hiobsons-bay-assault-at-williamstown\/","title":{"rendered":"HIOBSONS BAY: Assault at Williamstown"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police have arrested a man following an assault in Williamstown on Wednesday afternoon (Apr. 30).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is understood the victim, a 92-year-old woman, was approached by a man outside a shopping centre on Douglas Pde about 12.20pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officers have been told the man struck the female in the head, before she fell to the pavement and lost consciousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The woman, who is from Williamstown, was taken to hospital with what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 39-year-old man was restrained by members of the public until police arrived a short time later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The man, who is of no fixed address, was expected to be interviewed by Hobsons Crime Investigation Unit detectives in relation to the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Police have arrested a man following an assault in Williamstown on Wednesday afternoon (Apr. 30).
