GREATER GEELONG: String of burglaries
Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two men following a string of burglaries in Geelong West.
Investigators allege two men gained access to several businesses along Pakington, Weller and Hope Sts in the early hours of July 9-15.
It is alleged the following items were stolen from the businesses across the week:
• jewellery to the value of approximately $50,000
• hair dressing and barber equipment
• eyebrow tattooing equipment
• cosmetic products
• iPads and iPhones
Following a thorough investigation, detectives arrested two men in Geelong West and seized iPhones, jewellery, hairdressing and barber tools, hair care products, cash and drugs.
A 44-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with handle stolen goods, as well as drug and weapons offences.
A 28-year-old Geelong man was charged with (5x) burglary, attempted burglary and (x5) criminal damage.
The 28-year-old was remanded to appear before Geelong Magistrates’ Court on July 16.
The 44-year-old was bailed to appear before Geelong Magistrates’ Court on September 4.
