MONASH: Questionable fire at Mt Waverley


Fire Rescue Victoria was called at 2.59pm on July 12 to an incident on Huntingdale Rd, Mount Waverley after a caller to Triple Zero (000) reported a house fire.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find a three-bedroom brick premises well alight.
FRV crews used multiple hose lines to fight the blaze in an external attack as the fire started to spread into the roof of the structure.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus conducted a search of the house and confirmed no-one was inside.
The incident was deemed Under Control at 3.32pm.
The house sustained significant damage.
FRV crews remained on scene for several hours to fully extinguish the fire.
Victoria Police and gas utilities personnel also attended the scene.
The incident has been deemed suspicious and handed to Victoria Police for investigation.
