MORNINGTON PENINSULA: Schoolies moves from
Mornington Peninsula’s Schoolies celebrations will have a temporary change of location THIS YEAR, with the event relocating from Rye to Rosebud due to major upgrade works on the Rye foreshore.
The event will run from November 29 to December 1 at the Rosebud Village Green. A traffic management plan will be in place for thethree event nights with no access to the Village Green carpark from 7pm – 2am. Access to Rosebud Yacht club will not be affected.
“Peninsula Schoolies is a long-standing program offering school leavers a safe, fun and well-supported way to mark the end of their secondary education,” said a Council representative.
The event typically attracts approximately 2500 young people each year, and is delivered in partnership with Red Frogs Australia, Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and the Shire’s Youth Services team.
The fenced and unlicensed event space will run a multi-night program featuring live DJs, food, free or low-cost activities and a strong focus on wellbeing and harm minimisation. Buses from the event will still run from Dromana to Sorrento.
The event will be delivered in line with EPA noise guidelines and Shire staff will actively monitor sound levels throughout each night to minimise community disruption.

Our township is well placed to host this temporary move, and local businesses and community members can feel confident that this event is being delivered with professionalism, safety and care front of mind.”
