STRATHBOGIE: Trees to be removed at Euroa
As part of works to construct new roads for the railway precinct upgrades, three English Elm trees located on Railway St, between McGuinness St and Anderson St in Euroa, will be removed by Inland Rail this week.
“The tree removal is required to enable construction of new road infrastructure surrounding the upgraded railway precinct,” said a Strathbogie Council representative.
“Before works begin, all trees will be inspected by a qualified wildlife handler for the presence of native fauna.
Wildlife handlers will also monitor the removal works. If any animals are identified, works will pause until they have been safely relocated.
“Replacement trees will be planted on the opposite side of Railway St later this year as part of the project’s landscaping program. The replacement trees are anticipated to be Black Tupelos (Nyssa sylvatica), subject to final landscaping and planting requirements.
Traffic management will be in place throughout the works to assist with safe access to nearby properties.
Residents, pedestrians and motorists may experience brief interruptions while tree removal activities are underway.
