MORNINGTON PENINSULA: Open Day at Tounnin Wominjeka Youth Hub
An Open Day is being held from 3pm-7pm on Friday, February 28 at the Tounnin Wominjeka Youth Hub at 80 Besgrove St, Rosebud.
Event highlights include:
- Games, a range of activities for all ages.
- Food, tasty bites available.
- Explore: Tour the state-of-the-art Tounnin Wominjeka Youth Hub with facilities designed for young people.
- Meet local organisations: Learn about the services and programs offered by youth-focused organisations across the Southern Peninsula.
Since opening in September, Tounnin Wominjeka has been a hub of activity, offering young people a welcoming, safe space packed with resources: - Programs and activities: From creative workshops to gaming groups, to leadership opportunities.
- Facilities: The hub boasts a community kitchen, computers, an art room, and comfortable spaces to relax or study.
- Support and connection: Trained youth workers provide information and referrals, ensuring young people and their families have the support they need.
The hub is open for young people to drop in, study, or simply enjoy the space.
Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor Cr Anthony Marsh said: “We’re excited to invite everyone in our community to the Tounnin Wominjeka Community Day.
“This event is a fantastic opportunity to come together, enjoy a fun-filled afternoon, and see firsthand the resources and support available to young people at our new youth hub.
“|It’s a celebration of what makes our community so special – connection, inclusivity, and opportunity.”
Tootgarook Ward Councillor Cam Williams said: “This event is a great opportunity to explore the youth hub and learn more about what’s on offer for young people in our community.”
