STONNINGTON: Boys In The Band returns


In its early stagings in Melbourne in 1969, Boys In the Band created great controversy. It was presented by Harry M Miller at the Playbox Theatre.
Set in a New York City apartment during the late 1960s, this iconic play explores the raw, unfiltered dynamics of a group of gay men celebrating a birthday that unravels into a night of truth-telling, emotional revelations and unexpected confrontations.
In 1969, the Melbourne cast was Henri Szeps,John Krummel, John Norman, Charles Little, Gerard Maguire, Ross Osterlin, Kuki Kaa, Mark Albiston and Vern Todd.
Chapel Off Chapel iost a new Australian production of groundbreaking comic drama, The Boys in the Band, following its Tony Award-winning revival and Netflix adaptation.
Presented by James Terry Collective (Kinky Boots, Next to Normal, RENT), and supported by City of Stonnington, patrons are invited to enjoy this premiere of the Broadway revival.
