OBSERVER: Peninsula Summer Music Festival

The 2027 Peninsula Summer Music Festival will be held from Saturday, January 2 to Sunday, January 10 across the Mornington Peninsula.
Festival artists include Emily Sun (violin), Aura Go, Sandy Evans, Andrea Keller, Charlotte Miles, Inventi Ensemble, Fiasco Quartet and Nightingale Trio.
The first notes of the 2027 Peninsula Summer Music Festival will rise on Saturday, January 2, from the gardens of St John’s Anglican Church in Flinders. Over nine summer days and nights, festival audiences will revel in the sounds of baroque, jazz and ensemble music with 14 musical events in idyllic settings throughout the picturesque Mornington Peninsula.
Festival Directors Ben Opie and Melissa Doecke have brought together a stellar line up that showcases many of Australia’s most-celebrated instrumentalists.
“This year’s Peninsula Summer Music Festival has a distinctly Australian flair with some of our finest musicians returning home or joining us from around the country to gather on the Mornington Peninsula for what promises to be an unforgettable festival,” they said.
“The program features unique combinations of musical talents in rare one-off festival collaborations.”
“We’re thrilled to showcase the extraordinary talent of Australian women in music, including international violin superstar and our 2027 Festival Artist Emily Sun, who will join acclaimed pianist Aura Go for two concerts at Moorooduc Estate, before taking centre stage at the Festival Gala, and joining an incredible line up of female musicians for Schubert’s The Trout.”
Peninsula Summer Music Festival dates: January 2-10.
